Sam and Kara, who got married in 2023 in a moving wedding ceremony held on the Chapel Haven campus, were featured in a story about marriage that ran on Valentine’s Day (2/14/2025) on CT Public Radio.

Finding love and even a marriage partner is not unusual at Chapel Haven Schleifer.

“We have five married couples here at Chapel Haven,” said Catherine Sullivan-DeCarlo, Vice President of Admissions and Marketing. “All of them met when they enrolled at CHSC and eventually began dating their partners, leading eventually to marriage. Their parents sent them to Chapel Haven to learn how to live independently but I don’t think anybody had an expectation that they would find a romantic partner, let alone a spouse. It’s a happy outcome!”

Also interviewed was Ann Frank, who met and married her sweetheart, David, in 1990 in a wedding held at the former 500 Blake Street restaurant. While Ann’s comments did not make air, we are proud that she participated!
